Description
MRT-3127 Series consists of two standardized portable models: MRT-3127A (max 5kV DC, maximum measuring range 2TΩ) and MRT-3127B (max 10kV DC, maximum measuring range 5TΩ). It is a cost-effective digital high voltage megohmmeter developed for routine preventive test and insulation condition evaluation of medium & high voltage electrical equipment in power substations, power plants, industrial mining enterprises and new energy power stations.
The series adopts high-efficiency DC boost circuit and high-precision micro-current sampling technology, realizing standard insulation diagnostic measurements: insulation resistance (IR), dielectric absorption ratio (DAR), polarization index (PI). The independent **GUARD shielding terminal effectively eliminates surface leakage interference caused by humid and contaminated environments and improves measurement stability.

FAQ
Q: How to select between MRT-3127A and MRT-3127B?
A: General selection principle:
- MRT-3127A (5kV, 2TΩ): Mainly for 10kV distribution transformers, medium voltage cables, low and medium voltage motors
- MRT-3127B (10kV, 5TΩ): For 35kV class transformers, longer HV cables and scenarios requiring higher test voltage and wider measurement range
Q: What is the function of GUARD shielding terminal?
A: The guard terminal diverts surface leakage current of insulation material. When testing under rainy, humid or dirty conditions, surface leakage will lead to low reading deviation. Connecting guard wire can bypass leakage current, so the instrument only measures internal volume insulation resistance and improves test accuracy.
Q: Difference between DAR and PI?
- DAR (Absorption Ratio): R60s/R15s, reflects medium-short time insulation absorption characteristics, widely used for cables and motors
- PI (Polarization Index): R10min/R1min, evaluates deep insulation aging and moisture ingress, primary index for large power transformers
Q: Must discharge after measurement?
A: The instrument has built-in automatic discharge circuit. But for long cables and large capacitive test objects, please wait sufficient discharge time and confirm voltage returns to zero before touching test terminals to avoid residual electric shock hazard.
