Description

The GDKS-205G is a professional-grade, fully automatic open cup flash and fire point testerexclusively designed for quality assessment of insulating oils, lubricating oils, fuel oils and other petroleum products in power systems and petrochemical industries. It fully complies with GB/T 3536-2008, ASTM D92-2018 and ISO 2592-2017 standards, adopting the internationally recognized Cleveland Open Cup (COC) test method with an innovative all-electric design that eliminates the need for external gas sources.
The instrument features advanced PID intelligent temperature control algorithm that strictly follows the standard heating rate requirements, ensuring accurate and repeatable test results. Its imported PT100 platinum resistance temperature sensor provides 0.1℃ temperature resolution, while the high-sensitivity ion ring flash detection technology accurately captures the instantaneous flash fire signal. With one-click fully automatic operation, it completes the entire test process including temperature rise, automatic ignition and sweeping, flash/fire point detection, atmospheric pressure correction, forced air cooling and result printing without manual intervention.

Q: What is the difference between open cup flash point and closed cup flash point?

A:
  • Open cup flash point: Measures the flash point of petroleum products in an open container, simulating the fire hazard of products in open storage and use conditions. It is suitable for high flash point products such as transformer oil, lubricating oil and asphalt.
  • Closed cup flash point: Measures the flash point in a closed container, simulating the fire hazard of products in sealed storage and transportation conditions. It is suitable for low flash point products such as gasoline, diesel and solvent oil.
    GDKS-205G is specifically designed for open cup flash point testing according to GB/T 3536 standard.

Q: Does it require external gas source for ignition?

A: No. GDKS-205G adopts advanced high-voltage electronic ignition technology that does not require any external gas source or gas cylinder. This eliminates the safety hazards of gas leakage and the inconvenience of gas cylinder transportation and replacement, making it safer and more convenient to use.

Q: How does the automatic atmospheric pressure correction work?

A: The instrument has a built-in high-precision barometer that measures the local atmospheric pressure in real time. According to the formula specified in GB/T 3536 standard, it automatically corrects the measured flash point temperature to the value at standard atmospheric pressure (101.3kPa). This ensures that test results are consistent and comparable regardless of the altitude of the test location.

Q: How long does a typical test take?

A: The test time depends on the flash point of the sample. For transformer oil with a flash point of about 140℃, the complete test including heating, flash point detection and cooling takes approximately 20~25 minutes. For higher flash point samples, the time will be longer accordingly.

Q: Can it test both flash point and fire point?

A: Yes. GDKS-205G can automatically test both flash point and fire point in a single test. After detecting the flash point, the instrument continues to heat the sample until it detects continuous burning for not less than 5 seconds, which is recorded as the fire point.
